“Over Time we have come to realize that it was possible to bring the beauty and luxury of our Log & Timber homes to a wider audience. In particular, we know that there is a significant demand for a more “fused” together architectural style. One that blends the old - world charm and warmth of hand hewn log structures with the clean lines and appeal of modern design.”

DESIGN

It’s the spark of inspiration that starts the idea. In all of Simon’s designs he works with his clients to embrace their personal needs. For customers it’s their lifestyle, how they live or want to live, how they want their families to grow, and all things they love. All these items need to be incorporated into the designs. “I see my homes as living in a functional piece of art….and the art must reflect the owners”.

hand crafting

The core of all Hirsh Log Home designs is the log shell or timber skeleton. It’s the structure and the most dramatic part of the home. After the shell is designed Simon’s team of master woodcutters carefully select the wood and start to hand craft the structure in the yard. Every piece must fit perfectly before any homes leaves our yard.

SHIPping

Once the log or timber package is completed in our yard, it is carefully checked and inspected. The appropriate mode of transportation to site is selected, be it truck, rail or sea, and each piece is carefully loaded. This is a critical stage in the process as the components are finished pieces often with delicate joinery that must be protected in transport.

ASSEMBLY

Simon Hirsh personally receives all his home when they arrive on site. He makes sure all log or timber packages have arrived intact and that the unpacking and site layout is done correctly. Proper reassembly of the structures is another critical step that must be done with the utmost precision and care. It is exciting to see these magnificent creations being assembled on their foundations in the environments they were designed for.

build

While the log shell or timber skeleton are the focus of the design, there is still a lot of work to do. In fill walls, roof framing, mechanical systems, windows and doors all must be installed. This is a highly specialized process. Hirsh Log Homes will be there each step of the process to ensure your home is built to the highest standard.

FINISH

Log and timber structures require a different set of rules when it comes to finishing. Your main structure is exposed, and it’s the real feature of the home. Finishing must compliment the structure. Mixing different styles of finishing is one of Simon’s passions, and his interiors team at Simon Hirsh Interiors are masters at coordination. Making sure all details at this critical stage are executed and timed perfectly. Our passion is seeing a home through all stages of design. Concept, construction & interior design.
